Education verification

Degrees confirmed by the school that issued them

An education claim goes to the National Student Clearinghouse first, then to the registrar through our outreach engine, and every school is checked against the federal accreditation database. Unaccredited schools and diploma mills come back as a discrepancy, not a pass.

How it works

How education verification works

  1. 1

    Submit school, degree and year

Add the major and attendance window when you have them; the more fields, the stronger the verdict.

  2. 2

    Clearinghouse lookup

Seconds to minutes. A match on school, degree level and year is verified.

  3. 3

    Registrar outreach if needed

Day 0 email and fax, day 1 call, follow-ups on days 3 and 5, deadline day 7. Pending claims report their state and next attempt.

  4. 4

    Verdict with evidence

The Clearinghouse response or the registrar's reply is the evidence, with hashes and timestamps, in the report PDF.

Field checks

FieldPasses when
SchoolName or known alias matches the issuing institution
DegreeLevel and type match (a BSN is not an ADN)
MajorSoft match; differences are noted, never auto-failed
Graduation year / attendanceYear matches, or the attendance window overlaps
AccreditationThe school is accredited by a recognized agency
