Disputes API
Consumers file disputes through the consumer portal. You see every dispute that touches one of your reports, its clock and its outcome; you never handle the reinvestigation yourself.

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
open | Received; consumer identity confirmed. |
reinvestigating | The primary source is being re-checked; the customer may be asked for context. |
resolved | Outcome upheld, corrected (a new verification id is issued and linked) or unverifiable (the item is deleted from the report). |
A dispute.resolved webhook carries the corrected verification. If an adverse action is in progress on the disputed report, the final notice is held until resolution. See adverse action and FCRA program.
